About the event

Welcome to an exciting online evening together to talk about security, this time our Devtribe is a part of the Digital week and we hope you will join us and other events during the week.

For many organisations, information is their most important asset, so protecting it is crucial. In an increasingly interconnected environment, information is exposed to a growing number and wider variety of risks.

Threats such as malicious code, computer hacking and denial-of-service attacks have become more common, ambitious and sophisticated, making implementing, maintaining and updating information security in an organisation more of a challenge.

During this DevTribe we will hear how companies like Omegapoint, Visma and Sigma Technology work with security and why it is so important for them, and you, and we will gain an understanding of what researchers at Linnaeus University do within the area and what is happening in the future. We want to explore the field of security from different perspectives and have meaningful discussions and hopefully find new collaborations.

We gather curious and passionate developers and technology enthusiasts. As a participant, you are welcome to share your experiences or listen to others and learn more through inspiring presentations and interesting discussions.

Speakers

Dmytro Tereshchenko

Penetration testing and security requirements. When and why you need penetration testing. And most importantly, the limitations and pitfalls that a customer and a project that plans to order a penetration testing service can face. I want to share links to useful resources that can be used as a source of security requirements that can help project teams significantly reduce the number of findings in the penetration testing report.

Daniel Deogun
Developer, craftsman, and author of Secure by Design. Partner and senior consultant at Omegapoint in Stockholm, Sweden.

As a developer, you’re told “think security first” or “keep security top of mind” to avoid security weaknesses in your code. This sounds great, but why does exploitable software keep getting released? Is it because security always seems to come second to business value, or is it because thinking security first is hard? In this session I will introduce Secure by Design – a different approach to application security that seems to come natural to most developers.
